WHY does everyone suddenly jump on bandwagon and proclaim that Night Watch is an amazing motion picture? Jesus Christ, just because Russia comes out with a film that cost more than $1 million to make is no reason to wax lyrical. Just because one of the ex pop-tarts from Blestayshi stars as a central character is no indication of quality. Is it because you can rent it from Xtravision? Is that it? It's a complete farce that's barely saved by Konstantin Habensky, because he's noticeably far too good looking. It's an hour and a half of noisy crows and very very badly dressed Russians.

Blockbuster my arse. There are plenty of better Russian movies out there - but clearly they didn't give enough backhanders to get into the film festivals.

Timur Bekmambetov is an arse. See the sequel for reference.

[Incidentally since 'Night Watch', 'Day Watch' and all the other series of 'Watch' books written by whoever it was have exploded aaaaaaaaaaaall over Russia. Da Vinci Code anyone?]
